Clear hardening waterproof coat for scrapbooking paper stickers? Does it exist?
I want to coat the dimensional embellishment paper stickers used in scrap booking–I want to make a necklace using some (and it not harm my skin). I’m close to scratches my eyes out because I can’t find a clear cut answer.
I’ve done research and can’t find a definitive answer. I’ve only found answers on coating paper beads…but I can’t apply that advise because it’s not beads, they’re all dimensional, not one single round surface. I’ve found they use Modge Podge—but I want a thin clear coat around the entire piece, not a whole drop of clear stuff to encase the whole thing. I’ve also heard use varnish or lacquer….well, it will make the paper opaque/translucent, and is it safe on skin? Also clear nail polish, superglue, diluted regular glue, etc. But I don’t want it to take ages to cure.
Is it possible to find a solution that is quick and simple? THANK YOU!!!!
Gloss Acrylic medium is what I have used on printed paper before. The paper is less likely to go translucent if you put a very thin coat on – so that it does not saturate the paper, and let that dry, and put on another coat.
Matte Acrylic medium will leave a cloudy surface because it has a small amount of calcium carbonate in it to make it matte.
I hope this works for you. Modge Podge may be the same thing, IDK.
