What is an inexpensive and pleasant place to move to if you are going to retire?
I don’t mind a little snow, or some hot weather, but nothing too extreme. Also some place with inexpensive real estate and friendly people.
looks like the South wins! I moved to a wonderful town 20 miles north of Nashville, TN called Hendersonville. We have 4 distinct seasons but they are fairly mild. The people are great. H’ville has lots of great amenities and is growing as far as restaurants and shopping. We are right on Old Hickory Lake so there is boating and watersports and beaches. Home prices range from $150,000- a lot!!! But you can got a nice home reasonably still. We are only about 35 minutes from downtown Nashville and all the wonderful things available there- ballet, symphony, museums, all genres of music, history galore, great parks with walking trails, hiking, more lakes, camping, great restaurants, etc. We absolutely love it here!
